Jonathan teaches IB Economics, AP Microeconomics, and AP Macroeconomics. He started his career in banking, working at UBS and Citigroup, providing investment advice to high-net-worth individuals. He also has experience as an entrepreneur, establishing a men’s watch brand called POVEY and co-founding a mobile app called Resident.Tax.
Jonathan studied Geography at the Loughborough University in the UK. He has a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from the University of Sunderland. He has several finance qualifications and was licensed to provide investment advice by the FCA in London and SFC in Hong Kong.
Jonathan draws on his experience working in financial services and his own entrepreneurial journey to apply economic theory from the classroom to real-world examples found in the news.

Jonathan lives in Hong Kong, having travelled to over 60 countries around the world over the past two decades. He enjoys hiking, football, frisbee, tennis, and badminton. Jonathan is a fan of Fulham Football Club and an aspiring music producer.
